# Floor Heating Systems > Floor Heating Systems supplies and installs electric underfloor heating. We size the heating from a customer's floor plans, supply the cables, mats and thermostats, and install with our own installer, who is a licensed electrician. Installation covers Sydney, surrounding NSW and Canberra, subject to checking installer availability first, and materials are supplied on their own anywhere in Australia. We are licensed and insured. Quoting is free and comes in two parts: one quote for the materials, and a separate quote for the labour if the customer wants us to install. ## Contact - Phone: 02 9829 2752 - Email: bernard@floorheating.com.au - Address: 7 Koala Avenue, Ingleburn NSW 2565. Customers are welcome to come in to talk through a job or to collect materials they have ordered. - Website: https://www.floorheating.com.au ## Hours - The phone is answered Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. ## What we do We supply and install electric underfloor heating in new homes, home renovations, bathroom renovations, apartments, hotel guest bathrooms, office buildings, and under new freezer and cold storage floors. The work uses three heating products. Under tile heating mats go down on a floor that is already there, under new tiles. In screed heating cable goes into a sand and cement screed. In slab heating cable is tied to the reinforcement before a concrete pour. We supply and install the thermostat with the heating, and there are several models to choose from. A job runs the same way every time. The customer sends floor plans. We measure the heated areas, calculate the cable size and quote the materials, with a separate quote for the labour if the customer wants us to install. Once the quote is accepted and the area is ready, a day is agreed and we supply everything the quote lists. A cable monitor goes on every job we install, the heating cable is tested with our own equipment while it is going in and again once the installation is complete, and the layout is photographed before the floor is closed up. We also sell to customers who are not having us install. Heating cables, mats, thermostats, contactors and installation accessories are ordered through the online shop and delivered anywhere in Australia. ## Scope These are the parts of a job that belong to other trades, listed so that an enquiry reaches the right person rather than the wrong one. - The floor has to be prepared and ready before the installation day. Preparing it is arranged by the customer or their builder. - Waterproofing is arranged by the customer's own waterproofer. - We lay the heating and nothing above it. The customer's own tiler lays the sand and cement screed over in screed heating cable, or beds the tiles over under tile heating mats. - Insulation board is not part of a standard installation. - Heating covers the tiled bathroom floor and stops at the shower enclosure. Customers often ask for heating in the shower area and mean the tiles outside the glass, which is what gets heated. - On apartment work we work with the builder or the project manager. Any strata or owners corporation approval sits with them. - Fault finding is offered on systems we installed. - A customer may use their own licensed electrician instead. Every heating product is supplied with its own installation guide and their electrician works to that. Laying it correctly, the testing and the sign off are theirs. - Where a job sits outside the installation area, we can recommend a subcontractor to do the installing. ## Services - [New home builds](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/new-home-builds): electric underfloor heating for a house being built, sized from the plans and laid into the slab or the screed before the floor goes down. - [Home renovations](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/home-renovations): heating for a house being renovated, laid under the new floor covering and sized to the height the existing floors allow. - [Bathroom renovations](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/bathroom-renovations): heating for a bathroom being renovated, laid over the waterproofing once the waterproofer is finished and before the tiler starts. - [Apartments](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/apartments): heating for apartment bathrooms, ensuites and living areas, bonded down rather than drilled, and run off the apartment's own board. - [Hotel bathrooms](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/hotel-bathrooms): heating for guest bathrooms, designed once per room type and repeated floor by floor, with the key card cut off wired in. - [Office buildings](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/office-buildings): heating for office bathrooms, end of trip change rooms, lobbies, boardrooms and whole floors, scoped space by space and installed around building access. - [Cold storage and frost heave](https://www.floorheating.com.au/services/cold-storage-frost-heave): electric frost heave heating under new freezer and cold storage floors, laid in conduit so a cable can be replaced without breaking the slab. We also supply Pyrotenax mineral insulated wiring cable and the tools for installing it, which is a separate product line from the floor heating. See [Pyrotenax MI cable](https://www.floorheating.com.au/pyrotenax-cable). ## Where we work We install across Sydney, surrounding NSW and Canberra, and installer availability is checked before a day is agreed. Send the plans through and we measure the heated areas and calculate the cable size. The materials quote is free, and a second quote covers the labour if you want us to install as well. Both come back before any work is booked. **Can I get electric underfloor heating outside Sydney?** Installation reaches Sydney, surrounding NSW and Canberra, and installer availability is checked before a day is agreed. Further afield, Floor Heating Systems can recommend a subcontractor to do the installing. Materials are a separate matter: heating cables, mats and thermostats are delivered anywhere in Australia whether or not we install them. **Do you sell the heating on its own, or only with installation?** Both. The online shop sells heating cables, under tile heating mats, thermostats, contactors and installation accessories on their own, delivered anywhere in Australia. Every heating product is supplied with its own installation guide, and a customer using their own licensed electrician works to that. Laying it correctly, the testing and the sign off are theirs rather than ours. **How do you work out what size heating a room needs?** We measure the heated areas from the customer's floor plans and calculate the correct cable size from them. In a bathroom the vanity, the pan, the bath and the line of the shower screen come out of the heated area, because heating does not go under fixed furniture. There is no site visit before quoting. Photographs of an existing floor are enough for a renovation. **Who actually turns up to do the installation?** Our own installer, who is a licensed electrician and specialises in underfloor heating. Floor Heating Systems is licensed and insured. A cable monitor goes on every job, the heating cable is tested with our own equipment while it is going in and again once the installation is complete, and the layout is photographed before the floor is closed up. **Is the heating covered by a warranty?** Yes. The heating cables, the under tile heating mats and the thermostats each carry a manufacturer warranty, and the periods differ by product. The conditions are a competent installer, the directions supplied with the product, the applicable electrical regulations and an RCD protected circuit, so a supply only purchase installed properly is covered. The periods, the conditions and the full terms are set out at [Warranty](https://www.floorheating.com.au/warranty).
